About the Association
The Association: The Gwydir Valley Cotton Growers Association (CGA) is a voluntary organisation that represents the interest of professional cotton growers within the Gwydir Valley , in north-west New South Wales.
The Association provides a grassroots opportunity for members to provide comment on, and develop policy for, a whole range of industry issues.
The Association is also a member of the peak national cotton body - Cotton Australia , and as such provides a direct link from local growers to national decision- making.
It is also a member of the Australian Cotton Growers Research Association (ACGRA), which plays a vital role in directing leading edge cotton industry research.
The Gwydir Valley Cotton Growers Association meets on a bi-annual basis. Day to management is performed by the executive committee.
It has sister organisations in most other cotton growing regions in Australia .
An important feature of the Gwydir Valley CGA is its Community Relations and Scholarship program, which raises in excess of $40,000 per year that is directed towards health scholarships and community projects.
